Marc Weinrick L.Ac
Orthopedic & Sports Acupuncturist
Marc Weinrick is an acupuncturist specializing in orthopedic and sports-based care. He has been in clinical practice since 2008 and works primarily with musculoskeletal pain, injury, and movement dysfunction.
Marc’s approach is assessment-driven and hands-on. Treatment is guided by anatomy, neurology, and how muscles function within the body — not by symptoms alone.
Clinical Background
Marc’s introduction to acupuncture began after a significant injury while studying martial arts in South Korea. Acupuncture and its related therapies played a central role in his recovery and sparked a deeper interest in the medicine.
He completed a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, followed by additional training at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where he earned certificates in Massage Therapy and Asian Body Therapy.
While his formal education included Traditional East Asian Medicine, Marc’s focus has consistently been on orthopedic and sports medicine applications.
Treatment Approach
Since beginning practice, Marc has refined a hybrid style of care that integrates:
Orthopedic acupuncture
Dry needling and motor point stimulation
Electrical stimulation
Myofascial and manual therapies
Kinetic chain and movement-based assessment
This approach allows for efficient, targeted treatment — often producing measurable changes in pain, strength, or mobility early in care.
Marc works collaboratively with patients to define clear goals and build realistic timelines to recovery. If acupuncture is not the appropriate tool, he communicates that directly and helps guide next steps.
Outside the Clinic
Marc grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and remains deeply connected to the land, and leads an active, outdoor lifestyle. His interests include skiing, cycling, hiking, martial arts, gardening, home renovation, and world travel.
That perspective informs his clinical work — particularly when helping patients return to activity, sport, or the physical demands of daily life.
Get Started
Marc sees patients at MQT Acupuncture in downtown Marquette, Michigan.
If pain or injury is limiting how you move, a focused, orthopedic approach to acupuncture may be a good fit.
